 Welcome to Jill McCloy Designs

Hi There,

For those of you who let me know that my website had been hijacked, a big Thank You!  Just got it back in a editable form last night (Feb. 18) when I took a class in website design from Jim Karlson, a terrific teacher who wrote specific directions on what to do to get it up and running again.  Thank you, Jim!  Great class, too.

Now that I've discovered the computer classes at Skagit Valley College, I'm hooked.  What fun to be a student.  And, all the info and tricks will help speed up pattern making.  Well, except for all the "how to" illustrations.  But, I'm taking a digital photography class soon and that might cut down on the illustrations.  I'll also be taking a power point class and will be able to put some technique video downloads on the site.

I've designed a new jacket, that I just love.  Taught it for the first time in Tucson last week.  They all turned out great and I'll try and get some pictures up after my next web class on Wednesday.  The pattern is edited and I'm working on the illustrations, so it shouldn't be too long before it is here on the site. Look for the "Mali Jacket".  It is a wonderful and becoming style and the decorative bands were made from fabrics batiked and dyed by the young women of the Hèrè Jè school in Mali, Africa.  I will be promoting the girls fabrics in my booth at spring Quilt Market.  More about that soon.

PS  The above picture is of a Tea Cozy set that I made using my "Bugs, Blossoms and Borders" embroidery card, Signature Series 85, from Cactus Punch.  I thought something bright for winter would be nice.  And, Yippee, I finally got the picture insertion right!  PPS  The charming tea pot was a gift from Sandy Votaw of Sandy's Fabrics in Kennewick, WA--one of my all time favorite fabric stores.
